Day 2
Being the first time in my travelling career that complimentary breakfast wasn't provided, I decided to stroll around my hotel to look for something to fill up my stomach.

Having walked around aimlessly for approximately 30 minutes, I decided to opt for some dumplings, carrot cakes and a cup of soya bean milk as my first meal of the day.

The Ladyboss wasn't too pleased when I snapped this - Lesson learnt :P

Even the tattered signboard is a replica!!
Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's mansion
It is to say that almost whatever on display in this mansion ain't the real thing!!

As what the staff told me since all the items are mere exhibits on display in an exhibit hall, not a museum, thus all the stuffs on display ain't the real thing!!

What is real in the mansion is inside the south hall (based on the map) that some of the structures and flooring are genuine and the rest were largely being restored in recent years.

This was where Dr Sun Yat-sen, the founding founder of the Republic of China, stayed after he decided to use Guangzhou as a power base to launch his campaign in bid to unite the fragmented China in the 1920's。

During it's interval before become its current form, this mansion used to be a primary school, an agricultural training centre and even a detention centre!!

Guangzhou Insurrectional Martyrs' Memorial Park
All it mentioned was that this park is to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives in the first Communist uprising in 1927 but didn't mentioned the cause of it.

Managed to source from the net about this uprising:

"In order to rescue the revolution and retaliate against the frenzied suppression and slaughter carried out by the Kuomintang reactionary clique that took place after the failure of the First Civil Revolutionary War, the Guangdong Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to launch an uprising in Guangzhou on November 26, 1927"

It is, in my opinion, the local version of the Martyrs' Shrine I seen earlier in Taipei, except for different between the two is the Guangzhou's version is much static and without the spectacular display of the guards' changing of duty and grandeur of the Shrine in Taipei.

The tomb of the four martyrs who were killed in their failed plot to kill a local warlord, Long Jiguang
